SOSTENUTO

This organ has been specially conceived to meet the particular requirements of the Trio Delange. It is an ensemble of violin, oboe and organ which mainly performs baroque and pre-classical music.

The specification is based on an 8' and two 4' stops, one of which is a Prestant. This enables the ensemble to have a continuo sound at its disposal which marries perfectly the rich tones ot the violin and the oboe, and assumes a noticeable presence in oratorios or choir works.

The generous scaling of the stops and the keyboard compass are inspired by the XVIIIth centurys great organbuilding style of the famous Le Picard organbuilders who were natives of Liège (Belgium).

The exceptional design of the case, in a clear contemporary style, is made of local walnut and is the result of a fruitful collaboration with the architect Olivier Pesesse.
